Something I thought about:
- Another extremely busy and hectic week but with car issues that added an unnecessary level of complexity. This is transition time between fall and winter schedules — the child’s fall sports are wrapping up, we’re prepping for winter activities, and the trimester is about to end. Work is in a similar state of wrapping some projects while getting ready to begin others. And the election is next week. I’ve been scheduling as many offline “filling the well” type of activities as possible. Saturday was a lot of soccer. I’ve been crafting more regularly. I’m trying to block out as much noise as possible and stay calm and centered.
Something I did:
- Helped get the kiddo ready for Halloween — the whole family worked together to build a pretty awesome Rubik’s cube costume
- Many meetings, much testing
- Beta release of a big project
- Halloween! Hung out with my child’s school friends’ parents, and it was really nice to get to know them
- More soccer
- More knitting and embroidery
Something I read:
- Slow reads: How to Live Together by Roland Barthes, The Long Form by Kate Briggs, The Mirror and the Light by Hilary mantel, and War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
- Suddenly We by Evie Shockley
