Something I thought about:

  • A few conversations this week reminded me of how opaque academic norms and expectations are to anyone outside of it or just entering it. I'm not sure what to do with this except to perhaps weave in little bits of background during regular teaching to at least point students in the direction of the kinds of questions they can ask.

Something I did:

  • Sent a draft of a chapter to my adviser.
  • Got my first dose of vaccine.
