Something I thought about:
- I’ve been working on the structure of my dissertation, and I have a general arc and have figured out two chapters (which I appear to be attempting to write simultaneously?). I know that part of academic writing is figuring out your argument through writing, but I need to have a general shape of whatever it is I’m working on, or I have trouble finding an entry point. The shape of these chapters has changed and I've had to rewrite, but it’s fine because now I feel like I have direction adn a tighter focus, and that’s a huge relief.
Something I did:
- I wrote.
- I responded to all of the presentation topic proposals from my students. I teach most of the first-year class, so that was a lot, but there’s a wonderful range of topics.
Something I read:
- King and the Dragonflies by Kacen Callender for a book club meeting
- MAD by Aubrey Hirsch
