Something I thought about:
- I can’t remember the last time I went anywhere on my own for an entire week, and I’d never attended the main DH conference before. I also have never attended a conference as a sponsor instead of a scholar, so this was a lot of firsts. The conference was good, though — met some wonderful people and reconnected with folks I’d met at earlier DH conferences. I also got to see some really cool projects that inspired me. Grateful I could attend although and also very happy to come home at the end of a packed week.
Something I did:
- Traveled to DC for DH2024
- Attended DH2024
- Learned English paper piecing and blanket stitch
- Had dinner with an old friend
- Went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the James Baldwin exhibit
- Returned home
