• Another rough week, and I was pretty burned out, so I worked on revision but didn’t make as much progress as I’d like. I did get comments back on my other chapter, so I synthesized what I need to do for the diss as a whole and am slowly working my way through the punch list.

Something I read:

• Bright Dead Things by Ada Limón
• I liked this piece on climate change by Alyssa Harad.
• I also thought this piece on the history and use of English in India was super interesting, especially with regard to colonization, caste, and class mobility.

As a scholar of Indian English literature, I often ask myself: how must I read English in India to acknowledge it as both an aspiration and a tool?
