Something I thought about:

  • I was introduced to the word solastalgia back in 2016 or so, and I keep returning to it. The hurricanes, Asheville, Florida in general — I keep circling back to that word. At the same time, I marveled at the aurora borealis and at our collective wonder. There’s a flock of turkeys that keeps roaming our neighborhood, and one morning, a turkey was hanging out on top of our pergola, and it was so delightfully weird and unexpected. The juxtaposition of wildness and suburbia is simply delightful, and also, I cannot wrap my head around the current climate catastrophes let alone the devastations to come.

Something I did:

  • Transplanted the herbs I grew from seed. We’ll see how it goes. Some were not in great shape.
  • Had a LOT of meetings.
  • Research, PMing, prepping.
  • Saw the aurora borealis again and stayed up too late taking photos.
  • Got overwhelmed by the news and the world in general.

Something I read:

  • Mariana Zapata, Kate Clayborn, and Ali Hazelwood. Clearly needed to escape into some Happily Ever Afters.
