Something I thought about:

  • Last week was the big, end-of-school-year push. I had a book group meeting and then was basically trying to wrap everything at once — the middle school parents’ org, teacher awards, etc. The week was hectic and involved a lot of running around, and then the weekend was packed, too, between a Rubik’s cube competition (my kid’s first) and town Pride. We’re getting into the transition time between the end of school and summer camps / summer mode, which is always tough because of changes in routines. It feels good to cross things off my list for a couple of months, though.

Something I did:

  • Met up with my husband’s classmates for their reunion weekend. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen many of them, and I met several children for the first time, and it was lovely.
  • Attended book group.
  • Took the kid to the final piano lesson, soccer practice, and soccer game of the school year.
  • Wrote my final newsletters for the parents’ org.
  • Got teacher awards printed and distributed.
  • Read.
  • Wrote.
  • Took some shorter walks.
  • Attended my first ever Rubik’s cube competition which was really pretty fascinating. I took notes.
  • Went to town Pride.
  • Watched The Speed Cubers with the fam, which we all enjoyed. It’s short and has so much heart.

Something I read:

  • More Roots (my current slow read)
  • Poetry magazine
  • The Seventh Most Important Thing by Shelley Pearsall
  • The First State of Being by Erin Entrada Kelley
