Something I thought about:
- May is busy, as everyone knows, and I’ve been thinking hard about what I should wrap up and what I have the capacity to continue. There are no easy answers — there’s what I want to do, what I have time to do, where my specific skillset is helpful, where I could be more easily replaced, etc. I’m following the “everyone can do something; no one can do everything” line, knowing that “something” will be more tightly scoped moving forward.
Something I did:
- Worked on a couple of different websites
- A lot of accounting-related tasks, but they were worth it!
- Attended many meetings
- Commented on student stories
- Took Mother’s Day off (ostensibly) but ended up weeding the garden and my books
- Donated 3 boxes of books
- Rearranged books on several shelves
- Watched El Clásico
- Actually made it to book group
- Spent too much time at my laptop. Realized and started to correct it.
Something I read:
- On the Calculation of Volume IV by Solvej Balle
- The River Has Roots by Amal El-Mohtar
- Strong Poison by Dorothy Sayers
- And some light reads / series fiction (both for adults and kids)
