Something I thought about:
- What a week this has been. As usual, whenever there’s a lot going on, I go into organizational hyper drive. (“I thought I could organize freedom / How Scandinavian of me” — Björk) I’ve been trying to prep for the fall without overdoing it — thinking about how to handle new routines without knowing precise scheduling, trying to create enough structure that I’m not overwhelmed while leaving enough flexibility to adapt as needed. Mostly I start to organize and plan things, realize it’s too much, and then pull back and find a happier medium. Simplify, simplify.
Something I did:
- PT
- Read
- Final routine medical appointment of the summer
- A couple of meetings
- A *lot* of document updates/documentation as I gear up for the start of the school year — calendars and documents for my remaining volunteer gigs, writing up some SOPs/documentation, etc.
- More course planning — this time thinking about routines & organization
- Took my kid to another cubing comp
Something I read:
- All the Noise At Once by DeAndra Davis
- Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
- Esperanza Rising be Pam Muñoz Ryan
- Caught up on Poetry magazines just in time for another to arrive!
