Something I thought about:
- I was very excited to have a few full days off — I can’t remember the last time I took more than a 3-day weekend off — and, of course, there was an emergency we had to sort, so the wind down was not as restful as I’d hoped, but I did get some time to work on projects and to read and to hang out and to sit by the fire and to play games and to watch soccer with my kid. I crossed a number of items off of the to do list, too, although it doesn’t ever seem to get any shorter. I could honestly use a longer break with less to do — the holidays are always so packed, but this was both necessary and good.
Something I did:
- Worked half of the week
- Dealt with a house emergency (all is fine now)
- Cooked
- Had a friend over for Thanksgiving
- Made my first circular knit infinity scarf
- Finished some embroidery and started more
- Read a lot
- Watched a bunch of soccer
Something I read:
- Clean Getaway by Nic Stone
- The House at the Edge of Magic by Amy Sparkes
- Anita de Monte Laughs Last by Xochitl Gonzales
- We’re Alone by Edwidge Danticat
- Finished my final slow read of the year: War and Peace by Tolstoy
