Something I thought about:
- Campus protests and Palestine. I ended up back on Twitter/X to follow what was happening and found so many people I’d missed. I have extremely mixed feelings about the social media side of things and am straight up devastated about what’s happening in Gaza and here.
Something I did:
- Followed the news — student reporting, live feeds, etc.
- Work: meetings, planning, writing
- Listened to the new Kendrick tracks like the rest of the internet
- All of the usual running around and juggling work with parenting with home stuff
- Took daily walks
- Wrote
Something I read:
- We Loved It All by Lydia Miller
- Funny Story by Emily Henry
- The House of Being by Natasha Trethewey
- caught up on the War and Peace slow read
- Finished the following slow reads:
- Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
- The Preparation of the Novel by Roland Barthes
- This Little Art by Kate Briggs - An appreciation of Paul Auster by Lucy Sante
- That piece linked to a long profile/obituary of Auster’s late son Daniel Auster, which was just really awfully sad
- A tribute to Paul Auster by Jonathan Lethem
- “The children who remember their past lives” by Caitlin Gibson
