We’re off to Brookline, MA for our fall Boskidlit meetup!
On Sunday, October 2nd, there are a couple of kidlit events in Coolidge Corner:
2 pm, Brookline Booksmith (279 Harvard Ave): Ming Doyle will be signing Tantalize: Kieren’s Story. Ming is an illustrator, and she’ll talk about the process of turning a novel into a graphic novel. She’ll also demo some illustration techniques. Here’s an interview with Ming, who is entering the kidlit world from a background in graphic novels. Tantalize: Kieren’s story, was written by Cynthia Leitich Smith, one of our 2010 NESCBWI conference keynote speakers. Please come if you’re interested in YA lit, graphic novels, illustration, or simply welcoming a new member of our local kidlit community!
3 pm, Panera (299 Harvard Ave): Our fall #boskidlit meetup will take place at the Panera in Coolidge Corner. We have a section reserved, so we can enjoy an afternoon of tea, coffee, baked goods, and shmoozing. Writers, illustrators, editors, agents, booksellers, librarians, readers, professors — anyone who cares about children’s/YA literature is welcome to come hang out, talk shop, and connect in person. Space is limited, so please register here!
We look forward to seeing you!
